Hello, I am Mike Dunkle. My wife Cathy and I joined the Nazarene Church while living in Burlington, Iowa in January of 2002. A series of events and the Lord’s leading took us to Hannibal, Missouri and Hannibal First Church of the Nazarene later that year, then here to Columbia First in 2006. We immediately became active in the church serving in various ministry roles. In April of 2010 I accepted God’s call on my life to the ministry. I received my local license on July 6th, 2010 and currently serve as Christian Education Pastor.

I have just begun my first class in the Nazarene Course of Study toward ordination and will be applying for my District License next year. This is quite a challenge as I am still working full time at my “day job” as well. Cathy and I look forward to being in full time ministry as the Lord leads.

Cathy and I are blended family of twenty four years. We have four adult children and fifteen grandchildren in Missouri, Iowa, and Nevada. Cathy works as a customer service manager at Hobby Lobby here in Columbia. We are a team and I love her dearly.

As the Lord continues to lead and mold me I find my passion in ministry to see Christians mature in their faith from where ever they are in their walk, from the pre-believer to the maturing Christian through education and the preaching of His Word.

I share the Apostle Paul’s prayer to the Ephesians with you. “I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit. Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong. And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is. May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God.”
